Recap: A Night of Records

Thursday evening was the start of an exciting week of racing. Two drivers and two trainers teamed up to snatch a couple of wins each. Driver Guy Gagnon paired up with trainer Jamie Copley to win with horses Little Macabee and Good Luck Kathy. The other successful team was driver Jonathan Lachance and Yves Tessier with horses Royal Point and Blackjack Seelster. Many personal records were beat on Thursday, as 6 out of 8 winners registered a first or new lifetime record! This record breaking winners were:  Wild Dorothy (1:57.2), Little Macabee (2:02.2), Appleby Hanover (1:57.1), Royal Point (1:56.1), Shady Jack (1:54.4) and Blackjack Seelster (1:55.1).

Guy Gagnon proved the have another successful night on Sunday evening finishing the night with a hat track. He proved victorious with horses, Viper Select, Private Interview and Calgary Seelster. Driver Brett MacDonald was also able to celebrate on Sunday evening, leaving the night with two wins with Liberty’s Best Star and Killer Thriller. Killer Thriller and Brett MacDonald were also the winners of one of the main event of the evening, the Winners Over Handicap class for pacers. Killer Thriller won in 1:56 and is trained by Karen Kroeger. The Winners Over Handicap class for trotters went to driver Darrell Coville and Trainer Ed McHale with Raising Richard in 1:59.2
