This was an eventful weekend for Rideau Carleton as we all cheered our 2 drivers nominated for the Future Star award at the O’brien Awards. Indeed, Brett MacDonald and Louis-Philippe Roy proudly represented Rideau with their outstanding starting career. Louis-Philippe Roy was the one to bring home the statue. From all of us, Congratulations!
Closer to home, Roy’s success continued as he finished Sunday’s racing program with 4 wins. He drove to the finish line Boot Scootin Loral, Badstormanyport, Aarons Mattjesty & Majestic Diva. Close behind, Guy Gagnon visited the winner’s circle 3 times, accompanied by Camco Richie, Jenkins Creek & Commissioner Daley.
On the trainers side, Yves Tessier finnish up the night with a hat trick by sending out Boot Scootin Loral, Badstormanyport & Aarons Mattjesty to the winners circle.
In our main events of the evening, driver Guy Gagnon managed to capture both of our featured races. In the fifth race, Jenkins Creek lead from wire to wire to win in 1 :56 in the Winners Over class for pacers for trainer Gerard Demers. In the sixth race, Gagnon used the same strategy with his protege, Commissioner Daley, to captured the Winners Over class for trotters in a time of 1 :59.2.
