Many Firsts and Records

An eventful last week in the Raceway’s racing history occurred, as it celebrated its annual horsemen association gala. It also recorded many other racetrack records.

On Thursday evening, Driver Jonathan Lachance and Trainer Yves Tessier teamed up to pick up a couple of wins with Three Rocks in the third race and Blackjack Seelster on the fifth. Record times were achieved that night, as four horses were able to improve their lifetime mark; Colonisee Obligee (1:57.3), Three Rockets (1:55.2), Espoir Go (2:01) and  Blackjack Seelster (1:56)

Sunday evening proved to be another eventful night as it started out with impressive first driving opportunity for young Ryan Guy. Ryan just received his driver’s license last Wednesday and was able to drive Dali On Up towards his first lifetime win! Congratulations Ryan!

Driver and trainer Guy Gagnon had an absolutely fantastic night of racing having achieved a perfect night with his protégés. He managed to win with all 4 of the horses he sent out on the track Sunday night, and was able to reach his perfect grand slam with Schrader Hanover, Shanghai Kang, Private Interview and Calgary Seelster. Both Sylvain Lacaille and Darrell finished the night with 2 wins each. Lacaille won with Bettim Chris & After Market, and Coville with Raising Richard & Windsong Lisa.
